Pidilite Industries Shares Surge 5% As Q1 Net Jumps 33%

Sharemasterindia.com: Pidilite Industries shares surged as much as 4.6 per cent on Wednesday after the manufacturer of adhesives and chemicals posted strong June quarter earnings.

Pidilite Industries, which owns the Fevicol brand of adhesives, reported a 33 per cent jump in net profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2015. Its net profit rose to Rs 225 crore in the June quarter from Rs 168 crore during the same quarter of the previous year.

SpiceJet Extends Gains to Fifth Day, Jet Soars 10%



Sharemasterindia.com: Shares of SpiceJet soared over 5 per cent on Wednesday while Jet Airways surged 11 per cent. Budget carrier SpiceJet announced second consecutive quarterly profit, lifting sentiment in aviation stocks.

SpiceJet shares have extended their gain to the fifth straight day, surging nearly 25 per cent.

The outlook for aviation sector has improved after a fall in aviation fuel prices, which account for nearly 40 per cent of the operating expenses of airlines in India.

Cairn India Jumps 13%; CLSA Says 50% Upside Possible


Sharemasterindia.com: Cairn India shares surged as much as 13 per cent on Thursday after the Financial Times newspaper reported that the company's former parent - UK-based Cairn Energy - will vote against a proposal that involves merging Cairn India with its subsidiary Vedanta Limited.
 
In 2011, Cairn Energy had sold its controlling stake in Cairn India to Vedanta for $8.67 billion. Cairn Energy is now the biggest minority stake holder in Cairn India with 9.9 per cent stake.

Aurobindo Pharma Falls 4% on Reports of FDA Concern



Sharemasterindia.com: Aurobindo Pharma shares fell over 4 per cent to Rs 718 in the early trade on Wednesday after The Economic Times newspaper reported said that the US drug regulator (USFDA) raised quality issues at Unit 12 manufacturing facility of the company.
 
Aurobindo Pharma's Unit 12 is mainly used to manufacture drugs which are exported to US. The unit manufacturers products like Tazobactam and Piperacilin.

Asian Shares Dragged Down by Wall Street's Earnings Woes



Tokyo(Sharemasterindia.com): Asian stocks skidded on Wednesday after earnings dragged down US equities, while the dollar edged away from highs hit earlier this week.

MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan extended losses and was down about 1 per cent.

S&P 500 mini futures were down about 0.4 per cent from late US levels, after US equities tumbled on weak earnings from bellwethers IBM and United Technologies, while Apple Inc slumped in late trading after posting its results.

Oil Prices Resume Decline on Supply Glut Worries



Singapore(Sharemasterindia.com): Oil prices resumed their declines in Asia Wednesday following a US report showing stockpiles surged last week, with analysts warning for further weakness ahead.

Ahead of an official report, the industry-funded American Petroleum Institute (API) said stockpiles had increased by 2.3 million barrels last week.

US benchmark West Texas Intermediate for September delivery fell 70 cents to 50.16 a barrel and Brent crude for September tumbled 53 cents to $56.51 in late-morning Asian trade.

Devang Mehta, senior vice president at Anand Rathi Securities, says though earnings were in line with the estimates, cautious commentary of the management led to some selling pressure. Since valuations are very high, "I see limited upside for the stock in next 3-6 months. Buy over a 1-year perspective, any dips is a good buying opportunity, he added.

Bharti Airtel Jumps 6%, Hits 52-Week High

 Sharemasterindia.com: Bharti Airtel shares jumped as much as 6 per cent to hit 52-week high of Rs 452.45 on Tuesday after the company said that it has entered into exclusive agreement with France's Orange to explore the sale of its four African subsidiaries.
 
In a release to the exchanges, India's largest telecom operator said, "Orange and Airtel have entered into an exclusive agreement to explore the possible acquisition by Orange of Airtel's subsidiaries in Burkina Faso, Chad, Congo Brazzaville and Sierra Leone."

HDFC Bank Q1 Net Up 21%, Bad Loans Rise

 
Mumbai(Sharemasterindia.com): HDFC Bank, India's second-biggest private sector lender by assets, reported on Tuesday a 20.7 per cent rise in quarterly profit, lagging estimates, as bad loans rose.
  The Mumbai-based lender said net profit rose to Rs 2,696 crore for its fiscal first quarter to June 30, from Rs 2,233 crore reported a year earlier.

Infosys Posts Best Sales Growth in 15 Quarters, Shares Jump 15%


Sharemasterindia.com: Infosys on Tuesday reported a better-than-expected performance in its first quarter, beating analyst's estimates on almost all performance metrics. More importantly, Infosys reported its best sales growth in 15 quarters, leading to a 15 per cent bump-up in its shares. India's second biggest outsourcer reported a 4.4 per cent rise in constant currency revenue growth, beating estimates of 2.5-3 per cent growth.

(Sharemasterindia.com)Mumbai: Sun Pharmaceutical Industries shares slumped 16 per cent on Tuesday, heading towards their biggest ever fall in a day, after the drugmaker's warning that 2016 sales would be flat at best due to costs related to remediation work at its plants.

Analysts estimate a roughly 8-10 per cent hit to profit for the year as Sun Pharma struggles to fix manufacturing problems at one of its own key plants and those of Ranbaxy Laboratories, the troubled rival it bought last year.

Live: Sensex Off Day's Low, Nifty Reclaims 8,600 on Buying in IT Heavyweights

Tata Teleservices Surges 20% on Buzz of Offer to Buy Docomo's Stake


Sharemasterindia.com: Shares of Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) surged 20 per cent on Monday after a news report said that Tata Group has offered to buy out the stake of Japan's NTT Docomo at Rs 23.34 a share.

The Business Standard newspaper in a report said that Tata group has offered to buy NTT Docomo's 26.5 per cent stake in Tata Tele at Rs 23.34 a share , valuing the Indian telecom company at Rs 11,000 crore.

At 10:44 p.m., shares of Tata Teleservices were up 20 per cent at Rs 8.46.

Market Federal Bank Shares Slump on Spurt in Bad Loans

Sharemasterindia.com: Federal Bank shares declined nearly 10 per cent on Monday after the private sector lender reported a sharp surge in bad loans during the June quarter.

Gross non-performing assets jumped to 2.6 per cent of advances as against 2.04 per cent in the previous quarter, while net NPA rose to 0.86 per cent of advances from 0.73 per cent in the March quarter.

In absolute numbers, Federal Bank's gross NPL was at Rs 1,304 crore, a sequential rise of 23 per cent, while net NPL was at Rs 484 crore, a jump of 30 per cent as compared to the previous quarter.

ACC Shares Tumble as Q2 Profit Slumps 46%


Sharemasterindia.com: ACC shares fell 3.5 per cent on Monday following the cement maker reported a 46 per cent year-on-year drop in net profit between April to June 2015. ACC was top Nifty loser on Monday.

ACC reported a net profit of Rs 131 crore on sales of Rs 2,961 crore as against net profit of Rs 241 crore on sales of Rs 3,009 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year.

Live: Sensex Turns Flat, Slips Below 28,500

3:17 p.m.: Inox Leisure shares surge 6.4 per cent to Rs 208 after the company reported first quarter numbers.

3:10 p.m.: Banking and metal stocks have extended losses in the late noon deals. Meanwhile, select oil & gas and real estate stocks were also facing some amount of selling.

Delta Corp Jumps 9% on Strong Q1 Earnings

Sharemasterindia.com: Delta Corp, which runs casinos in Goa among other things, saw strong buying interest on Friday following the company's first quarter earnings. Shares in Delta Corp jumped as much as 9.3 per cent to hit an intraday high of Rs 85.40.
 
Delta Corp reported a net profit of Rs 10 lakhs in the April-June quarter of FY16 against a loss of Rs 19.6 crore in the corresponding quarter of last fiscal. Total revenues jumped 46 per cent to Rs 81.5 crore compared to Rs 55.7 crore in the year-ago period.

Mindtree missed constant currency revenue growth estimates and also reported a decline in profitability in the June quarter, but strong sales guidance for the September quarter cheered investors. 

Asia Up on Wall Street Rise, Greece Relief



Tokyo(Sharemasterindia.com): Asian shares opened higher on Friday, aided by a higher Wall Street and eased tensions over Greece, while the dollar extended gains versus the euro and yen as economic indicators bolstered expectations for a U.S. rate hike by year-end.

MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan was up 0.1 per cent. The performance of volatile Chinese stocks, which start trading later in the day, will be watched to see if recent gains are kept.

Japan's Nikkei rose 0.2 per cent on a softer yen, while South Korea's Kospi climbed 0.5 per cent. Australian shares were little changed.

Education Stocks Extend Gain, Jump Up To 30% in Two Days

Sharemasterindia.com: Shares of companies engaged in education business and vocational training extended gains for the second day on Thursday after Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 'Skill India' mission as part of the government's effort to increase the employability of the Indian youth.
 
Shares of Educomp Solutions, which develops educational software rose as much as 4.5 per cent on Thursday. In last two trading sessions shares of Educomp Solutions have surged nearly 30 per cent amid huge volumes. Aban Offshore Gains on Iran Deal: Should You Buy?


Sharemasterindia.com: Aban Offshore India's largest offshore drilling services provider - shares are on fire following the announcement of the Iran nuclear deal. The stock closed 16 per cent higher on Tuesday and was up another 5 per cent today, hitting an intraday high of Rs 338.60.

Analysts say easing of sanctions in Iran post the nuclear deal will help Aban Offshore, which gets around 35 per cent of its revenues from the country. Aban Offshore has reportedly deployed 5 rigs in Iran and due to existing sanctions, these rigs have not been fully utilized, analysts say.

JSPL Promoter Pledges 3.49% Stake

 New Delhi(Sharemasterindia.com): Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) on Tuesday said one of its promoter has pledged 3.49 per cent stake in the company with Axis Trustee Services Ltd.

In a BSE filing, the steel and power producer said its promoter OPJ Trading Pvt Ltd has pledged 3.49 per cent stake in the firm with Axis Trustee Services Ltd on July 6, 2015.

OPJ Trading Pvt Ltd holds 20.51 per cent stake in JSPL as of June 2015.

India Cements Plunges After Supreme Court Panel Suspends CSK

chennai-super-kings-csk_625x300_71423669081                                                                       Mumbai: India Cements shares saw huge selling pressure on Tuesday, falling 6.5 per cent, after the company's franchisee Chennai Super Kings was suspended from the Indian Premier League (IPL) for a period of two years.

Reversing its positive opening, the stock fell sharply by 6.31 per cent to Rs 88.25 on the BSE.

Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals were on Tuesday suspended from the cash-rich cricket league for two years for betting activities of their key officials Gurunath Meiyappan and Raj Kundra during the 2013 season.

IIFL Holdings Soars on Fairfax Open Offer For 26% Stake


Sharemasterindia.com: IIFL Holdings shares jumped more than 20 per cent on Tuesday after billionaire Prem Watsa controlled Fairfax India announced its decision to acquire 26 per cent in the diversified financial services company.

IIFL, which operates businesses in non-banking finance, housing finance, wealth management, broking, investment banking and insurance distribution, had reported a net profit of Rs 480 crore on revenues of Rs 2,220 crore for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2015.

64-year old Mr Watsa, popularly called 'Canada's Warren Buffett', had previously invested in companies such as Research in Motion - the makers of BlackBerry handsets.

Dr Reddy's Lab Gains Nearly 2% on US Drug Launch

Sharemasterindia.com: Shares of Dr Reddy's Laboratories on Tuesday rose as much as 2 per cent to a day's high of Rs 3,828.35 after the drug firm launched the generic memantine hydrochloride tablets in the US market.

Gold Clings Above Four-Month Low on Euro

Manila(Sharemasterindia.com): Gold held above a four-month low early on Friday, spurred by a firmer euro on signs of progress in debt-hit Greece's efforts to secure fresh funding.

But bullion is still down so far for the week, its third in a row, as the Greek debt saga and China's equities rout failed to spark safe-haven bids.

HUL Falls Nearly 3%, Extends Losses to Second Day


Sharemasterindia.com: Shares of HUL fell as much as 2.8 per cent at its day's low of Rs 895, extending its losses to the second day. The shares of the FMCG company declined nearly 0.70 per cent on Thursday.

Shares of HUL had outperformed the market in the past one month, gaining over 12 per cent amid better-than-expected June rainfall. In comparison, the Nifty rose nearly 4 per cent.

HUL shares also benefited from defensive-buying, amid turmoil in global markets.

Manpasand Beverages Edges Higher After Weak Debut


Sharemasterindia.com: Shares of fruit drinks maker Manpasand Beverages ended higher on Thursday, reversing early losses. Making a tepid debut on the bourses, Manpasand Beverages opened at Rs 300 on NSE, down over 6 per cent from its issue price of Rs 320.

It fell nearly 11 per cent at its day's low of Rs 285.70. At day's high, it rose to Rs 342.60.

Dhirendra Singh, CMD of Manpasand Beverages, attributed the weak debut to market volatility. He defended the pricing of the issue, saying that otherwise the IPO would not have been fully subscribed.

Sensex Falls Over 100 Points on Selling in IT, Oil & Gas Stocks

3:25 p.m.: The capital goods stocks were witnessing buying. The BSE capital goods index surged 2 per cent; Suzlon Energy, BHEL, Larsen & Toubro, Mahindra CIE and Crompton Greaves were among the top gainers, up 1.7-6.2 per cent each.

3:16 p.m.: Oil & gas stocks extend losses; the BSE oil & gas index fell 2 per cent. BPCL, Indian Oil, HPCL and Oil India fall 2-5.5 per cent each.

Eros International Denies Stake Sale Plan, Shares Tank 20%

Sharemasterindia.com: Shares of Eros International slumped nearly 20 per cent on Thursday after the company clarified that it is not in talks to sell a stake.

Earlier in the day, shares of Eros rose as much as 11 per cent after a Mint newspaper report, citing sources, said that the Bollywood film producer and distributor is in advanced talks to sell a stake in its Eros Now unit to Singapore-based Fullerton Fund Management.

According to Nomura, TCS has missed revenue growth expectations in the last three quarters because of segment-specific weakness in energy, telecom and insurance verticals.

Beijing/Shanghai(Sharemasterindia.com): Chinese stocks rallied on Thursday after the securities regulator banned shareholders with large stakes in listed firms from selling, in Beijing's most drastic step yet to stem a sell-off that has roiled global financial markets.

As the daily drumbeat of official announcements aimed at propping up the sinking equity market continued, state news agency Xinhua said police would investigate "malicious" short-selling of stocks, and the banking regulator said it would allow lenders to roll over loans backed by stocks.

Bhushan Steel Surges 20% on Reports of Rs 30,000 Crore Loan Recast

 Sharemasterindia.com: Bhushan Steel shares surged 20 per cent to its maximum intraday limit of Rs 65.80 on Thursday after its chief finance officer (CFO) Nittin Johari told Press Trust of India that its lenders have approved long-term restructuring of about Rs 30,000 crore loans, under the 5/25 scheme of the Reserve Bank of India.
 
The Bombay Stock Exchange has sought clarification from Bhushan Steel on this.

Under the 5/25 scheme, the Reserve Bank has allowed banks to restructure loan term infrastructure loans extended to corporates for a maximum period of 25 years, with a provision to restructure it in every five years.

Essar Oil Surges Over 5% on Rosneft Deal


Sharemasterindia.com: Essar Oil shares surged as much as 5.1 per cent on Thursday to Rs 198.35 after Russia's Rosneft signed a deal to acquire up to 49 per cent stake in its Vadinar oil refinery.

Refining accounts for over 95 per cent of Essar Oil's overall business. Rosneft also hinted at plans to increase the refinery's capacity to 45 million tonnes (900,000 barrels per day) by 2020.
