Mumbai(Sharemasterindia.com): Equated monthly installments on home and auto loans are likely to come down after State Bank of India (SBI), the nation's top lender by assets, said on Tuesday it would cut its base lending rate by 15 basis points to 9.7 per cent effective June 8 after the central bank cut its key policy rate for the third time this year.
Some other smaller state lenders also announced base lending rate cuts of between 25 and 30 basis points.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Reserve Bank of India cut the repo rate by 25 basis points, taking the total reduction this year to 75 basis points to help boost economic growth.
